About Low Back Pain & Sciatica
Low back pain is one of the most common reasons people in Hyderabad put off their work, their workouts and their sleep. At Recure, we start every low back pain and sciatica case with a proper movement assessment — not a standard protocol — because pain that starts at the spine can come from a disc, a joint, a muscle, or a nerve, and each needs a different plan. Dr. Manisha Moorjani's team combines hands-on manual therapy with a structured exercise programme to calm the pain down and then rebuild the strength that keeps it from returning.

What Causes Low Back Pain & Sciatica?
Low back pain rarely comes from one single event — it's usually the end result of how you sit, how you move, and how well your core and glutes are supporting your spine day to day. A disc that's been under sustained pressure from hours at a desk behaves very differently to one injured lifting something heavy, and sciatica specifically points to a nerve being irritated somewhere along its path from the lower spine down the leg. During your assessment, we work through your history and movement pattern to identify which of the following is the actual driver, rather than treating the pain in isolation.
- Prolonged sitting with poor posture, especially at a desk or behind the wheel
- Lifting heavy objects with poor technique
- A bulging or herniated (slip) disc pressing on a nearby nerve
- Weak core and gluteal muscles that leave the spine under-supported
- Degenerative changes in the spine that come with age (spondylosis, disc wear)
- Pregnancy-related changes in posture and ligament laxity

Symptoms
No two cases of low back pain feel quite the same — some people describe a dull, constant ache, others get sudden sharp pain that stops them moving altogether. Sciatica adds a layer most patients haven't experienced before: pain, numbness or tingling that travels well below the back itself, often down to the calf or foot. Recognising which of these patterns matches your experience is one of the first things we establish, because it changes which structures we test and how we start treatment.
- Dull, aching pain across the lower back
- Sharp, shooting pain down one leg (sciatica)
- Pain that worsens with sitting, bending, or standing for long periods
- Numbness, tingling or pins-and-needles in the leg or foot
- Muscle spasm or stiffness after waking up
- Difficulty standing up straight after sitting

How We Treat It
There's no single exercise or technique that fixes every low back — what works depends entirely on what's driving your specific pain. We typically combine hands-on manual therapy to reduce pain and restore movement with a progressive strengthening programme that addresses the weakness usually found at the root of recurring back pain. Where sciatica is present, nerve-gliding exercises are added early, and every plan includes practical advice on the postures and habits that are keeping the problem going.
- Manual therapy and spinal mobilisation
- Nerve-gliding exercises for sciatic pain
- Core and gluteal strengthening programme
- Postural correction and ergonomic advice
- Electrotherapy (TENS/IFT) for acute pain relief
- Graded return-to-activity plan
